In one bowl, combine the dry ingredients: flour, ground ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, cloves and salt

In a separate bowl, beat the butter then add water, brown sugar and eggs. Once the batter is smooth, mix in the molasses. Then slowly add half of the dry mixture.

Once the mixture starts to thicken, knead the remaining dry ingredients into the dough.

Roll out the dough. Be sure to flour the surface to avoid dough from sticking.

Make sure the dough is evenly rolled out and not too thick.

Cut out desired shapes in the dough.

Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until fully cooked through. The edges will start to darken.

Once cooled, decorate!
